Charles Zerweck, Director of Clinical Studies
Dr. Zerweck serves as a consultant with Sponsors on study design and implementation. He has an advisory role in protocol development, to assure that each protocol meets the needs of the Sponsor. Along with Dr. Grove, he is responsible for interpretation of study results and formulation of conclusions.
With 20 years of experience, Dr. Zerweck is one of the foremost clinical skin graders in the country. His expertise includes the grading of all signs of photodamage, dryness and irritation scoring, facial and leg shave assessments, MED scoring and acne lesion assessments.
Dr. Zerweck has hands-on experience with most of the essential instrumentation used in skin studies. A brief listing includes ultrasound imaging, laser doppler blood flow, electrical conductance, evaporative water loss and numerous skin biomechanical measurements. His expertise includes the making of skin surface replicas and the subsequent computerized image analysis.
In addition, Dr. Zerweck has served as a Clinical Photographer for nearly 20 years working with both Canfield and Faraghan Studios and has aided in the initial development of facial photography systems.
Before joining cyberDERM, Chuck served as Senior Scientist at KGL, Inc. from 1984-2004. Dr. Zerweck's background is in physiology, histology and endocrinology. Ph.D. (Physiology), Pennsylvania State University
